The Stanley Police and Fire Departments responded to a two-vehicle crash near the railroad tracks in the area of East Maple Street and South Franklin Street in Stanley on Friday, May 3rd. Moises Sanchez Montalvo, along with passenger, Teofila Ithehua Tzompaxtle, was traveling northbound on South Franklin Street and failed to stop at the posted stop sign located at South Franklin Street, before colliding with a truck traveling eastbound on East Maple Street driven by Stanley resident, Allan Marten. Neither Montalvo nor Tzompaxtle hold a valid driver’s license and their vehicle showed Tennessee license plates. Tzompaxtle was transported by Boyd EMS to Aspirus Stanley Hospital for further medical treatment while Marten suffered noticeable injuries but stated that he was “ok.” Montalvo was cited for operating without a valid driver’s license (second offense) and failure to yield at a stop sign.
