United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley (UWGCV) will begin its three-year grant cycle process (2022-2025) with today’s release of its Request for Proposal (RFP). The RFP can be accessed at www.uwgcv.org/funding. UWGCV intends to invest $1,000,000 annually between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2025 to programs that address mental health prevention and intervention, school readiness, employment skills and personal money management, as well as serving basic needs of food, shelter, basic medical and dental care. All programs will benefit Chippewa and/or Eau Claire county.

Beginning on May 3, 2021, all information and forms will be available on UWGCV’s website. Programs wishing to apply for grant funding can submit a grant application. Applications must be submitted by 12:00 p.m. on July 30, 2021. All submissions will be reviewed for appropriate alignment with the guidelines provided and decisions will be made between late 2021 and early 2022.

To further advance the community impact goals, UWGCV is focusing on shared outcomes, collaboration, urban and rural outreach, and are further expanding the population to include ALICE (Standing for Asset, Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) individuals and families. ALICE represents those households who are unable to afford life’s basic necessities. The United Way ALICE report illustrates that approximately one-third of all households in Chippewa (32%) and Eau Claire (39%) counties do not earn enough to be self-sufficient. To increase access to services for ALICE and poverty level households, UWGCV funding should target residents of communities within Chippewa and Eau Claire counties with household income at or below the ALICE threshold, which is approximately 250% of the Federal Poverty Level. To learn more about the United Way ALICE report, visit the ALICE Report page on the UWGCV website.

To provide an overview and answer questions regarding the grant funding application process, United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley will host a virtual meeting open to all interested organizations on Thursday, May 27, 2021 beginning at 3:00 p.m. using the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87558180821.
