New this year, Stanley will have its first ever rodeo queen, and her name is Evalynn Williams. Chosen Saturday, June 13 in a process that included an interview, test, and horsemanship demonstration, Williams developed her love for horses at a young age when she began riding with local saddle clubs before competing on the Stanley Equestrian Team and at County and State Fairs. An active member of Chippewa County 4-H, Williams is a graduate of Chippewa Valley Technical College with a degree in Animal Science Management and hopes to continue her education to become a veterinary technician. In her free time she enjoyed riding her rose and camping with family and friends. Williams competed against Savannah Shallock and Ashlee Hamm for the honor of Stanley Rodeo Queen.
Hamm was chosen as Stanley Rodeo Princess this year, being the daughter of Kris Hamm, Adam Penk, and the late Eric Hamm. She graduated with honors in Medical Laboratory Science form Northern Michigan University and currently works as a Laboratory Assistant and Phlebotomist at Aspirus Hospital. Hamm became involved in rodeo at a young age, competing in barrel racing and pole bending through the Wisconsin Girls Barrel Racing Association, Wisconsin Little Britches Rodeo Association, and National Barrel Association.
