“It’s always nice to have S-B golf represented at the WIAA Sectional level. We didn’t play our best at the Regional last week, unfortunately, but kudos to Caitlen Ketterhagen for qualifying as an individual. She put up a respectable round at a really tough golf course up in Luck yesterday. It was a great learning experience that we can hopefully build upon next year. Reflecting on the year as a whole, there’s a lot of good to take away. We won a conference match for the first time in a decade, and put ourselves in a really good position for our postseason events. We have a lot of competition on our roster, and it will be nice to see these young ladies develop over the course of another offseason.
“I’ve also got to say that it’s wonderful to see our CloverCroix conference so well represented in the state finals this year, with the Colfax-Elk Mound team advancing, as well as Bloomer’s Jordyn Belrichard qualifying as an individual. This conference started as three schools without a place to play, and has developed into a wonderful league that has been a mainstay in the state finals year after year. And not only is the league very talented, but it is also very young. Of the 15 golfers who received All-Conference recognition, only two are seniors. The level of competition that we get to enjoy in our little pocket of the state is truly as good as anywhere, and the camaraderie can’t be beat. The coaches and players are all top-notch, and we are very blessed to be a part of it.”
