Stanley, WI—The 13th annual Watermelon Fest 5k run and walk was held as part of the annual Stanley Lion’s Watermelon Festival held July 27th at Chapman Park. A very warm and humid day greeted nearly 70 runners and walkers who completed the annual 3.1 mile event. Owen Clark of Chippewa Falls won the male division title. Maddy Vantassel of Fitchburg was crowned the ladies champion. Overall winners received running bobble head awards and division winners received a chilled watermelon. The 5k run/walk was followed by a well-attended kids race. Winners for the 5k run/walk were as follows, listed by age group:
