The Stanley Sportsman’s Club and Foundation will celebrate two decades of supporting local outdoor programs when it hosts its 20th annual Booster Banquet Saturday, Sept. 26, at Holy Family Hall in Stanley.
The banquet serves as a fundraiser for the Stanley Sportsman’s Club and Stanley Area Sportsman’s Foundation. A full 100 percent of the proceeds are used locally to support the club and foundation and area projects emphasizing safety, youth activities and outdoor education with club contributions help support local activities and projects while encouraging young people to participate safely in hunting, fishing and other outdoor pursuits.
As for the details, doors will open at 5 p.m. at All Saints Parish Hall, located at 136 East Third Avenue in Stanley. Raffles will start at 5:30 p.m. with dinner served at 7 p.m. This year will have more than $35,000 worth of prizes and raffle items, including more than 40 guns.
Tickets for the banquet are $100 and can be purchased at Oemig’s Sport Shop. Banquet tickets include a booster membership, meal, and free refreshments. A crossbow and gun raffle drawing valued at $1,500 will also be part of the evening, with one person at each table winning a gun.
Several participation options are available in addition to individual tickets. Table captains can purchase tickets for eight or more people and receive special benefits. Sponsorship opportunities are also available, with sponsors contributing $250 in cash or $300 in merchandise to qualify. Sponsors receive a free banquet ticket along with additional promotional and prize benefits, with one gun door prize for every 10 sponsors.
The event will also feature a food pantry raffle. Those attending can receive one free raffle ticket for each nonperishable food item brought to the banquet and donated to the food pantry. Participants will have a chance to win a gun donated by Oemig’s Sport Shop.
A special Booster Bucks promotion is also being offered ahead of the banquet. Those registered by Sept. 4 will receive a $130 Booster Bucks promotion above their banquet ticket order and will receive $30 in Booster Bucks for every $100 spent. Booster Bucks are included in the ticket envelope at the door and can be used for raffles during the banquet.
Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Orders received after Sept. 21 will be held at the door rather than mailed.
