Stanley-Boyd Schools hosted an Academic banquet in the high school gym Tuesday, November 2 at 7:15 p.m., the better to honor its scholars and achievers. Refreshments were prepared by Ms. Thorpe’s Food Service Class, the FCCLA, and S-B Food Service Staff. Musical selections from the Lion King played by the band under the direction of Mr. Devon Wenndt. Following a welcome by high school principal Tanya Mahr, the keynote speaker at Tuesday’s banquet was Shelby Sonnentag from the S-B Class of 2012. Shelby attended college at UW-La-Crosse for one semester before transferring to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting. Following graduation she studied for and earned her professional designation as a Certified Public Accountant.
Following the keynote address by Sonnentag, presentation of academic awards was made by Principal Mahr and Greg Burzynski, both Stanley- Boyd alumni. Mahr gave the closing remarks at the banquet. A list of honorees follows below.
