Alex Makar 1954 – 2022

Alexander Makar, JR, 67 of Stanley, died, on Monday, November 14, 2022. He was born on December 9, 1954 in New York to the late Alice (McCarthy) and Alexander Makar, SR. Alex grew up out east and was a commercial electrician.

Alex enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, taking them to the Stanley Rodeo and the Stanley movie theater. He loved his music, movie collection and enjoyed gardening. A great story teller of “old times” back in New York City and an avid sports fan of his beloved New York Yankees, New York Giants and New York Rangers.

He is survived by his son, Alexander (fiancé Thea) Makar III of Chippewa Falls and his grandchildren, Makenzie, Colin, and Tegan, and his siblings, Dorothy (John) Quinn of Hicksville, N.Y. and Richard Makar of Long Island, N.Y. Alex is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James and Robert Makar and his sister, Karen Fisk.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11AM on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church-Stanley with Deacon Ned Willkom officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery-Stanley. Visitation will be from 10AM-Monday until time of departure to church at the Plombon Funeral Home-Stanley.
