Boyd Area Chamber holds monthly meeting

The Boyd Area Chamber of Commerce met Tuesday, March 10 for their monthly meeting. After the Pledge of Allegiance, President Cory Zais gave the Treasurers report in the absence of Treasurer, Teresa Isensee. The bowling tournament held at Tolley’s this past weekend was very successful, and a big thanks goes out to all the bowlers, Jeff Tollefson and his staff at the bowling alley, all those that donated prizes, and the volunteers that made this event possible. Annual dues are coming in, and accounts are all in balance.
Next for discussion is the upcoming Ringlespiel Days. Questions were raised regarding the Patten Street repair and how that will affect the Ringlespiel parade and park set-up. We will reach out to the Village and Haas to get clarification. Bands are booked with 8 Seconds on stage Friday night, Fully Loaded Saturday night and Sunday brings Brady Booth to the stage. Cory will contact Spectrum Carnival to make sure all is arranged with them. Carnival workers will most likely need to park their campers out toward the back of the ball field to free up space in the Park for rides, etc. There will be a Pedal Pull contest and Paint Me First will be on hand Saturday. Also discussed was a dart tournament and corn hole tournament.
The Miss Boyd, Little Miss, and Junior Miss Coronations will be held on Saturday afternoon. Miss Boyd is open to young ladies in 9th-12th grade and has a $500 scholarship award. Junior Miss Boyd is open to girls in 6th-8th grade with a $300 scholarship, and Little Miss Boyd is open to girls in 2nd-5th grade and has a $200 scholarship.
Much more for Ringlespiel Days will be discussed and decided at the next meeting.
Also discussed was possibly printing and selling Boyd Chamber T-shirts and having a large item(s) raffle which would kick off during Ringlespiel Days.
The next meeting of the Boyd Area Chamber will be held on Tuesday, April 7 at 5:30 at Lotz Park, weather permitting. In case of inclement weather, the meeting will be held at Hill House. Interested in becoming a member? Contact Cory Zais at Boyd Catering or Jessica Conley at Hill House or come to a meeting. All area residents and businesses are welcome!
