The Boyd Area Chamber of Commerce held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 10. The meeting was called to order by President Cory Zais. After the Pledge of Allegiance, the first order of business was to elect new officers to the positions of Vice President and Secretary. Voted unanimously for Vice President was Jessica Conley, and Stephanie Schuebel as Secretary. Treasurer will remain Ken Gerrits.
The 2025 Ringelspiel Days was discussed. Overall, it was felt it was a successful weekend. Next year will see some changes to the queen contest including possibly moving it to Saturday afternoon, and including a Little Miss contest. Other minor changes are being discussed for the 2026 festival.
Also discussed was the Family Fun night in conjunction with the Boyd Little League. The Chamber will once again sponsor fireworks at dusk. The event will take place on Thursday, July 3 at Lotz Park. This event has grown each year, and this year will be no exception.
Next on the agenda was the annual Corn Feed. The date for the festivities held on the main street of Boyd is Friday, August 15. There will be free corn on the cob, music, games for the kids, bike giveaway, face painting, fishpond, and other fun activities. St Joseph food wagon along with the All Saints Parish popcorn machine will be on hand. More information will be forthcoming as plans are finalized.
Due to the busy schedule of Chamber events, there will be a special Chamber meeting on Monday, June 23 at 6pm. The meeting will be held at Lotz Park, weather permitting. Any person interested in joining the Chamber is encouraged to contact Cory Zais (Boyd Catering), Jessica Conley (Hill House), or any member of the Chamber. Every organization needs members to be able to continue their work, and we look forward to welcoming new members!
