The Boyd-Edson-Delmar Fire Department Charcoal Chicken Fundraiser was held on Sunday, April 26, 2026 from 11 .am. to 2 p.m. in Boyd. The annual event now in its 33rd year sold out this year, featuring chicken dinners and other meal options as well as bake sale and several other items, supported by numerous local businesses and community members. Along with a half chicken or brats the dinner included potato salad, baked beans, cheese curds, bread, pickle, bar, and choice of coffee or milk. Attendees could also choose a hotdog and chips option.
Boyd-Edson-Delmar Fire Chief Ron Patten said the dinner took in $6,000, while the gun raffle netted $2,500 for the department. Some $3,700 was raised with the ambulance auxiliary basket raffle, while Northwestern Bank made a $2,500 donation.
With $11,000 from the event and costs at $5,000, a total of $6,000 profit was raised for the department.
