Lotz Park was the heart of the action this past Friday through Sunday as the Boyd Little League Tournament welcomed teams, families, and fans for a sunny weekend packed with youth teeball and softball, camaraderie, and delicious concessions.
The annual weekend tournament drew a crowd, with some attendees even camping at Lotz Park for added convenience. In true small-town style, a few creative fans were spotted watching games from seats on top of their camper for the best view in the park.
Alongside the games, the event featured raffle baskets and a 50/50 raffle, which generated excitement throughout the park, where the lucky winner took home $450!
The tournament will officially wrap up with an award ceremony on August 7, beginning with a dinner at 6:00 p.m. for all those in attendance. Following the meal, tournament winners will be announced, and awards and medals will be presented in recognition of all the teams’ hard work and sportsmanship throughout the season. In a special tribute, 8th grade players will be honored with a keepsake as they close out their Little League careers and prepare to start high school.
Team photos from the tournament will be featured in next week’s edition of the newspaper, so readers are encouraged to check back to see highlights and familiar faces from the field.
The Boyd Little League Tournament once again delivered a fun and memorable weekend for players and fans alike—celebrating not just tee ball and softball, but the community that supports it every step of the way.
