The Boyd Little League and T-Ball program capped off another memorable season with a fun-filled end-of-year dinner, bringing together players and their families for an evening of great food, awards, and camaraderie.
Held in true community spirit, the dinner honored the hard work and enthusiasm of the young players and their dedicated supporters. Attendees enjoyed a delicious meal featuring their choice of beverage, grilled chicken, hot dogs, or hamburgers, accompanied by cheesy potatoes, mac and cheese, pasta salad and a tempting dessert table complete with strawberry cupcakes and other sweet treats.
Awards were handed out to recognize the season’s top-performing teams. The Pirates claimed first place, followed by the Giants in second, and the Cubs rounding out the top three in third place. The league bid farewell to its outgoing eighth-grade players, who have officially aged out of the program. Each of them received a baseball signed by their teammates—a keepsake honoring their years of play and friendships made on the field.
Meanwhile, the youngest athletes in the T-Ball league were also celebrated, each having received a bat or bat bag as a token of participation and encouragement to keep swinging in the seasons ahead. The biggest sellers of the Boyd Little League brat fundraiser were rewarded with cash prizes. As Regie Benson, the longtime announcer, shared that she is giving up her spot, the league will be looking for another announcer to fill her shoes.
The evening was a fitting sendoff to a season filled with effort, growth, and community pride. Organizers extended their thanks to coaches, volunteers, and families who made the season possible and helped foster a love of the game in Boyd’s next generation of ballplayers. “And that’s the ball game.”
