BOYD POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS

October 2 4:30 p.m.

A traffic stop was conducted.

4:57 p.m.

Officer dispatched to a report of a person pounding at the doors of a residence in the 100 block of East Murray Street attempting to get in. While en route officer was advised by county deputies that the person at the house was not supposed to have contact with the people living there due to previous issues. Officer arrived on scene and determined that the person had already left. Statements were taken from the complainants and contact was attempted with the other person, but unable to be made. Officer will attempt to make contact at a later date. 6:57 p.m. Officer dispatched to activated medical alarm. Upon arriving on scene officer made contact with the woman who stated that she had accidentally hit her button and that everything was ok. Officer cleared without issue.

9:14 p.m.

A traffic stop was made.

October 8 5:52 p.m.

A traffic stop was made.

9:27 p.m.

Boyd police was requested to respond to the City of Stanley to assist the Stanley Police Department with a domestic issue not in progress. Boyd officer stood by at the complainant’s house while Stanley officer handled the case. Boyd officer and Stanley officer then made contact with the suspect, Craig Nitz, and took him into custody without issue.

Officer returned to the victim’s location and issued no contact paperwork. The victim chose to waive the no contact order. Boyd officer issued the victim their victim rights and explained them. The victim did not have any questions. All required paperwork was returned to Stanley Police. 9:35 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted.

October 9 12:00 a.m. A traffic stop was carried out. 6:46 p.m. A traffic stop was made with no address listed.

October 10 3:30 p.m.

Boyd Police were requested by Stanley to assist with a domestic in progress. Officer arrived on scene and stood by with Chippewa County deputy while Stanley officer conducted his investigation. After the investigation Stanley officer took Keith Soward into custody for domestic battery. Soward was transported to the jail without issue, informed of his victim rights and chose to waive his 72-hour no contact order, then being transferred over to jail staff.

9:41 p.m.

Officer observed a disabled vehicle on Highway 29 near mile marker 97. The vehicle was missing a tire and moved to 300th Street to remain overnight. October 13 7:14 a.m. Traffic stop made. 9:07 a.m. Traffic stop made. 11:47 a.m. Officer received a complaint of a “guy tweaking out” in a vehicle in front of the complainant’s property. Officer arrived on scene and made contact with the person in question who stated he had a flat tire and was waiting for a friend to come help him fix it.

October 14 2:04 p.m.

Boyd police were requested by Stanley Police to respond to a check person call in the City of Stanley. Officer arrived on scene and assisted while Stanley officers handled the investigation. Northwest Connections was contacted by the Stanley Police Department and a plan was put into place.

9:54 p.m.

Officer observed a vehicle speeding on Highway 29 eastbound. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle. Illegal narcotics were smelt in the vehicle resulting in a search of the vehicle. A hidden compartment was located in the vehicle with nothing in it. The driver was extremely nervous and not giving valid information. The driver was field tested and released without incident.

October 22 2:19 p.m.

Boyd Police received a call related to mental health from rural Boyd. A woman attempting to walk onto Highway 29 and make threats of harm refused to get in her caretaker’s vehicle. Officer was able to get the woman back into her caretaker’s vehicle and returned to the house, being turned over to a second woman, who was advised to call 911 if the first woman got back onto Highway 29 or became combative.

7:33 p.m.

A traffic stop was made.
