January 2 4:23 p.m.
Two traffic stops in seventeen minutes. No locations specified. 8:20 p.m.
Officer patrolling at 8:15 p.m. on Highway 29 near mile marker 97 when he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The LASER reading showed 80 mph in a 65 mph zone. Officer conducted a traffic stop on said vehicle and made contact with driver Cody Haynes who admitted to speeding. Chippewa County advised that Haynes license was revoked due to an alcohol violation, on active probation and with a passenger whom he was to have no contact with, also the vehicle owner.
Haynes was detained but later released at Boyd Cenex as Probation and Parole did not place a hold on him. He was warned for violating the court order and cited for speeding and OAR 1st.
10:08 p.m.
A traffic stop was conducted without additional information. January 3 1:58 a.m.
Officer conducted a traffic stop on Highway 29 at mile marker 97 in which Jacob Leonard was cited for not having valid proof of insurance.
2:38 a.m.
Boyd Police responded to the area of North Rose Street and East Meyer Street for a report of a vehicle in the ditch. The vehicle was abandoned and had open alcohol containers in it. The vehicle was removed by Breezy Acres and a hold was placed.
January 6 8:00 a.m.
Boyd Police received a traffic complaint from the Saint Joseph’s Catholic School for a school bus violation. Extra patrol was requested and one traffic stop made for speeding past the school on East Patten Street. No other issues were observed.
8:18 a.m.
Boyd Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for no plates displayed. Scott Cota was identified as a passenger in the vehicle and taken into custody on a valid Clark Co. warrant. He was later released.
9:25 a.m.
Boyd Police conducted a traffic stop and subsequently searched the vehicle, resulting in the finding of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
January 7 5:05 p.m.
A traffic stop was conducted.
9:21 p.m.
Boyd Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding. During the investigation of the stop it was determined that there may be open containers of alcohol in the vehicle. Consent was obtained by the driver to search the entire vehicle. Open alcohol containers and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to jail. No name attached.
January 8 9:57 a.m.
Boyd Police received a School Bus Violation complaint from the Stanley-Boyd School District that occurred on January 7 at 4:01 p.m. on East Patten Street in the Village of Boyd. The school said to have video of a blue Pontiac. As a result of the incident, Braydon Miler was cited for passing a school bus and for inattentive driving. 1:56 p.m.
Boyd Police was requested for a civil standby while a landlord made entry into one of his rental properties. The landlord made entry through a window as it appeared the prior tenant had damaged locks to prevent entry. The inside of the house was 40 degrees and there was no furniture inside. Landlord was advised to contact the Housing Authority to proceed with legal action.
10:01 p.m.
Boyd Police were dispatched to Highway 29 for a traffic complaint but were unable to reach the highway before the vehicle passed. Stanley Police made a traffic stop and Boyd Police conferred with the Stanley Department, clearing from the scene without issue.
January 14 1:34 p.m.
Boyd Police received a phone call from the Boyd Cenex requesting a check vehicle on an abandoned black Chevy Suburban. Officer arrived on scene and observed the vehicle with no plates, and the interior did not have any possessions in it. Cenex requested the vehicle be towed, with the vehicle being removed by Breezy Acres without issue.
January 15 3:30 p.m.
Boyd Police received a report of a dog running at large on the complainant’s property on Boundary Road. Complainant worried about dog’s behavior as they had children and it was also reported that there was rat poison on the property for killing rodent pest. Officer advised called that if the problem persists to continue calling when he sees the dog on his property.

8:12 p.m.
Boyd Police received a parking complaint from Boyd Public Works about a trailer with snowmobiles parked on the street for several days they can’t plow around. The property owner was contacted and a message was left advising them to move them.
January 16 1:42 p.m.
A traffic stop was conducted.
2:04 p.m.
Officer on patrol on Highway 29 near mile marker 97. Upon observing a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and passing over cars, a laser reading was taken. The laser showed the vehicle to be traveling 80 mph in a posted 65 mph zone. The vehicle then moved into the far lane and visibly slowed as it approached. A traffic stop was conducted on the driver Brian Wicks, who asked to see the radar. Officer informed him that he was not going to show Wicks the radar, with the driver stating that his cruise was set at 72 mph. Officer then issued and explained a citation for speeding, further informing Wicks upon being questioned that he (the officer) had a certified laser proving the speed. Wicks was then told to be safe pulling into traffic, upon which the stop was ended.
3:17 p.m.
Boyd Police received a traffic complaint of a loud truck driving obnoxiously late at night. The complainant stated this had been happening late at night for the past several nights. Extra patrol requested.
7:44 p.m.
Four traffic stops conducted in just under four hours, no accompanying information given. January 19 2:22 p.m.
Boyd Police dispatched to a traffic complaint east bound on Highway 29 near mile marker 81. An Anonymous complaint stated a black Jetta had tried to run the caller off the road at a high rate of speed. Vehicle located traveling 81 mph near mile marker 97 and the driver cited for speeding. No name provided.
4:17 p.m.
Officer observed a white van parked on the on ramp to Highway 29 westbound. 10 minutes later the van was still there and officer stopped out with the vehicle to make sure everything was ok. The driver stated that it was and that he was just looking over paperwork. Officer cleared without issue.
8:52 p.m.
A traffic stop was conducted, no further information being provided.
January 20 1:20 p.m.
Boyd Police received a citizen complaint of two dogs running at large in the area of North Rose Street and East Ingersoll Street. Officer checked area but was not able to locate the dogs.
3:49 p.m.
Boyd Police were transferred a juvenile case from Cadott Police regarding a young girl reportedly selling nude pictures for money, which claim of sale was unsubstantiated at the time. The young girl in questions was spoken to about the ‘severity of the situation’ and the mother was made aware of the situation as well.
6:06 p.m.
A traffic stop was conducted with no further information given. 7:50 p.m.
Boyd Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for no lights illuminated to the rear during nighttime hours. The vehicle was pulling a U-Haul trailer. Officer escorted the vehicle to the truck stop in Cadott and was able to get the lights working. The vehicle then continued on its way and the officer cleared without issue. 8:52 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted.
