A Boyd man and woman have been arrested for credit card fraud, after they allegedly went to two Lake Hallie businesses and made a series of purchases—with credit cards that didn’t belong to them.
Kaitlin Gadke, age 20 and Anthony Williams, age 23, were arrested by Lake Hallie police on January 4, 2022 after a fraud victim stated their credit card had been used to make a $646.66 purchase at Farm and Fleet on Christmas Eve. Police had received report of a stolen credit card from Walmart shortly after Noon on December 31.
The Boyd residents were identified as part of further police investigation on the part of Lake Hallie, resulting in Gadke’s arrest felony retail theft, felony identity theft, and misdemeanor fraudulent use of a credit card in the Farm and Fleet incident.
Following another report of credit card theft January 9 at 1:00 p.m. and purchases made for $263.41 from Walmart and $193.76 from Azara Smoke N Vape, Gadke and Williams were arrested January 10 with the help of the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department.
As a result of the arrest from January 10, Gadke was charged with misdemeanor obstructing an law enforcement officer and one additional count each of felony identity theft and misdemeanor fraudulent sue of a credit card, while Williams was charged with felony identity theft, misdemeanor fraudulent use of a credit card, misdemeanor obstructing a law en- forcement officer and party to a crime.
Gadke has no police record at CCAP prior to her arrest in the case, while William’s re- cord is limited to traffic forfei tures as non-criminal offenses, one for failing to stop at a stop sign in Thorp back in August 2020 and the other for operating a motor vehicle without proof of insurance in Clark County, from 2019.
Both Gadke and Williams were transported to the Chippewa County Jail without incident, per Lake Hallie Chief of Police Edward A. Orgon, Jr.
