Facing Thorp Tuesday, Jan. 3 at home after press time, the Oriole boys varsity is set to follow up with McDonnell Jan. 6 away.
Earlier facing Arcaia in an away game Dec. 28, the Orioles came away with a defeat 74 65, making the record thus far 1-8 for the season. In spite of what might be a discouraging record, however, head coach Dakota Nichols says the team is growing and coming into it’s own.
“Our tough non-conference schedule has made us a better team moving towards conference play,” he shared recently. “The boys have grown a lot and I think we are starting to find our identity as a team. We have done a great job protecting the ball, having a few games with single digit turnovers. We are also getting better at the “little things” like closing out and boxing out. I’m excited to see what we can do in conference play.”
