Brochure outlines City taxi service details

Residents have been asking the city about shared ride services, and to that end, Stanley Common Council member Laurie Foster passed out a brochure to attendees at a recent council meeting that better outlines how to get around town—no golf carts just yet, though.

Among the many services detailed in the double-sided, three column brochure as passed out by Foster is the “Clark County Taxi,” billed as “Public Transportation for all Clark County and City of Stanley residents!” With 2021 hours of service listed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m .to 5 p.m. with information contact number at (715) 743-3364, the rates for a one-way fare on the Clark County Taxi, are as follows.

For adults in general, the one-way fare is listed at $5, while for senior citizens 60 years of age and older that fee drops to $3. For those who are disabled as well as children under 18, the rate is likewise $3, with the first child under five riding free, although needing an “attendant,” no other specification given as to details. Additional stops are $2, while for parcel delivery, the taxi service charges $5. Once again, the information contact number is 715-743-3364, while for toll free the number is 800-236-8438. A (TTY) reservation can be made at 7-1-1, while the toll free number for TTY reservation is 800-947-3529.

Also listed in the brochure without specifying Stanley are the Neillsville Taxi with information at (715) 743-4600, Interfaith Caregivers of Clark County at (715) 743-2885, and the Volunteer Transportation Program, with phone number of (715) 743-5233. Comfort Carriers Inc. of Medford is also available to Clark County residents with specialize medical transport needs and can be reached at (715) 678-2030, while the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Clark County for transportation needs can be reached at (715) 743-5144. Those using Medicaid should call 1-866-907-1493 for scheduling rides to medical appointments.
