If that describes you, we have news. The spring election arrives April 7 next year, and candidate filings are open! The first day to circulate nomination papers was Dec. 1, with the final filing day Tuesday, January 6.
Up for election next April in the city of Stanley include the post of mayor and several council seats. Ballot opportunities for April 2026 in Stanley include the seats of Mayor Mike Henke, First and Eighth Ward Alderperson Mark Fitzsimmons, Third Ward Alderperson Terry Metzger, and Fourth and Ninth Ward Alderperson Aaron Dorn, as well as a vacant Ward 2 seat.
As for Boyd, two village trustee seats are on the line, currently held by Casey Dickson and Josh Walters.
For Stanley-Boyd Area School Board, there are three openings, the seats of Denise Hoffstatter (Delmar, Colburn, and Taft), Bob Geist (Village of Boyd), and Toni Seidl (City of Stanley) on the ballot.
Also on the April ballot are county board posts.
For Chippewa County Board, local board seats up for election include those of James Ericksen (Area 8 - City of Stanley), Matthew Peterson (Area 10 - Delmar, Boyd, and Edson), Timothy Goettl (Colburn, Goetz, Arthur, and parts of Delmar and Estella), and Pam Guthman (Area 2 - Ruby, Lake Holcombe, Cornell, part of Estella).
For Clark County Board, relevant board seats include Arlene Kodl (District 8 - Thorp township, parts of cities of Stanley and Thorp), Jill Hoff (District 7 - City of Thorp), Al Bower (District 13 - Worden, Butler, Foster North, Foster South, Part of Thorp township), Roy Tyznik (District 12 - Reseburg), and Joe Waichulis Jr. (District 6 - Withee township and part of Hixon)
For Taylor County the relevant county board seats are Darrell Thompson (District 16 - Taft Roosevelt, Maplehurst) and Lynette Rosemeyer (District 15 - Aurora, Ford).
For Wilson and northwest Eau Claire County meanwhile the county board seat is currently held by Caleb Aichele (District 1 - Wilson, Ludington, Bridge Creek, Fairchild).
