Stanley has a new small business.
Tessy’s Sweets and Treats, located at 222 North Broadway in Stanley, expands upon Tessy’s Popcorn, started at the Stanley Theater 10 years ago.
Tessy (aka Theresa Pries) started making gourmet popcorn on November 1st, 2015 at the Stanley Theater. Offering flavored bags of popcorn to choose from on shelves in the lobby of the Stanley Theater, on the road at Craft Shows and online. Five years ago, she diversified into a kettle corn food truck offering fresh popped kettle corn and fresh squeezed Lemonade at events during the summer.
Celebrating her 10th year of making gourmet popcorn, Tessy has taken a leap toward her dream of having her own gourmet popcorn storefront! Not only will she have gourmet popcorn fresh to scoop for take out with a variety of flavored bags, but also 16 flavors of ice cream made in Madison, WI, donuts from Sweet Memories Bakery in Thorp, nostalgic & bulk candy, dirty sodas, and coffee/espresso/cold brew.
Official business hours are still out and subject to change at present, but Pries thinks hours leading up the holidays will be Tuesday to Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Starting in January store hours will be Wednesday to Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Summertime hours will be 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. everyday to accommodate the hot summer with cold ice cream cravings.
With limited seating due to candy taking up the space, Tessy’s Sweets and Treats has stools to socialize, and will have summertime seating outside in warm weather.
The atmosphere is fresh, bright, and fun, and there will be opportunities for deliveries and pre-orders once she is open for a bit.
Asked for additional info, Pries shared the following
“This will be a learning curve offering so many options,” she said. “Be patient with the serving and drink options feedback is welcome for it will be bumpy the first couple of weeks.”
Now open, the official ribbon cutting for Tessy’s Sweets and Treats on North Broadway will be Small Business Saturday, November 29th at 10:30 a.m.
