‘Time to close chapter’ for long-serving public servant

Cadott police chief

It is with distinct privilege I announce my resignation as Chief of Police from the Cadott Police Department as well as the Chief of Police for the Village of Boyd. With this announcement I am retiring after 31 1/2 years of service to communities and agencies that I have had the honor to serve.

In 1991 I was hired as a police officer for the City of Stanley and worked there for 17 years.

During that time, I also was hired in 1993 as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for Chippewa County and worked road shifts, dispatch and special events such as Country Fest and Rock Fest and the Blue Angels Air Show. I further worked 6 months in the City of Bloomer to fill in while one of their offi –

cers was injured and unable to work. In 1994 I was hired as a part time officer for the Village of Boyd and soon after that was promoted to Part Time Chief of Police. I then had the privilege to be hired as a full time Chief of Police for the Village of Ca- dott in 2006 and have been the Chief of Police for Boyd and Cadott until now. After 31 1/2 years of service to all of the great communities that I have worked, it is now time to close this chapter in law enforcement

and now do something different. Law Enforcement has been a challenging career, yet rewarding at the same time. I will miss many of the people that I have worked with, however it is now time to move on and do something different.

I am also pleased to announce that Stanley Police Department under the direction of Chief Lance Wieland will be providing services to the Village of Boyd as I end my time there. I also will be working with the Village of Cadott Personnel Committee on recruiting a new candidate to replace my position.

I would like to take this time to thank the following communities for the opportunity of serving. First and foremost, the City of Stanley, the Village of Boyd, Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department andlastbutnotleast,VillageofCadott. Mylastdayas Chief of Police will be Wednesday, May 4th 2022.

Respectfully, Chief Louis L. Eslinger Cadott Police Department
