The girls varsity basketball season is officially underway.
With a scrimmage Saturday, Nov. 16 followed by an away game against St. Croix Central Tuesday, Nov. 19, Orioles Head Girls Basketball Coach Ryan Wundrow shared thoughts on the season thus far.
“We did some good things in the scrimmage but have a lot of work to do,” he said. “Some of the younger players are bringing some energy to our program. The older girls are doing a good job of leading. Our success will depend on our effort, attitudes and effective communication.”
Returning to the varsity roster this year are four seniors: Syleen Seichter, Lauren Potaczek, Aaliyah Allard, and Kamryn Derks.
Juniors this year on varsity are Lula Chwala and Bailey Sikora. Sophomores are Lucy Wundrow, Gianna Dahm, Megan Potaczek, Ella Nitz, and Kennedy Reed. Freshmen on the varsity roster are Kendall Sikora and Caitlen Ketterhagen.
The season now underway, the Orioles play Barron Thursday, Nov. 21 at Barron High School before coming home to play Owen-Withee at Stanley-Boyd High School Tuesday, Nov. 26. Come on out and support the Orioles!
