Community Investment: Forward Bank Supports D.R. Moon Library’s Future

As the D.R. Moon Memorial Library moves closer to the anticipated opening of its newly renovated and expanded space this summer, the Building Connections Capital Campaign continues to highlight the generous donors who are helping to make the project possible. One of those key supporters is Forward Bank, which has contributed $115,000 to the campaign.
“Forward Bank, Insurance, and Investments is proud to support the D.R. Moon Public Library expansion as an investment in the future of Stanley,” Jaimie Keeku, Office Manager at the Stanley Branch, said of the donation. “Libraries are more than buildings—they are centers of learning, connection, and opportunity for people of all ages.”
To honor this remarkable gift, a new meeting room space in the library addition will be called the Forward Bank Conference Room.
“Forward Bank has a history of bringing people together, and we are so happy to recognize their support with the naming of this meeting room,” Library Director Elizabeth Miniatt said. “Because of their shared connection to the community, Forward’s generous contribution carries special meaning. Their support reflects a clear commitment to investing in Stanley’s future and ensuring that the library continues to serve as a place for education and opportunity for the next 125 years.”
Forward Bank has an essential place in the Stanley area, building relationships with individuals, families, and businesses who value the strength and connection found in small-town communities. The Stanley branch of Forward Bank and the D.R. Moon Memorial Library share many of the same customers—people who rely on local institutions that bring neighbors together and make our communities better places to live.
“This community-driven project reflects the same values we hold at Forward: strengthening the communities we serve, supporting lifelong learning, and creating spaces where individuals and families can grow and thrive.” Office Manager Keeku said, “We’re honored to play a role in helping ensure the library continues to be a welcoming resource for generations to come.”
The library building project aims to transform the library through a thoughtfully designed addition and restoration, creating expanded spaces for programs, technology, and community use while preserving the history of the original building. Contributions like Forward Bank’s play a vital role in making these improvements possible.
Announcing Forward’s commitment, Forward Bank President David Clark took the opportunity to share, “This project is about more than just adding space – it’s about expanding access to knowledge, fostering a love of reading, and bringing people together. Libraries have always been about opening doors – to learning, creativity, and connection. With this expansion, our library will be better equipped to serve a growing community and to continue offering the incredible programming that sets it apart.”
The library and Building Connections Campaign leadership extend their sincere appreciation to Forward Bank for their vision for Stanley’s future as well as their generosity and initiative to help make this project possible. Thank you for helping move the library and Stanley forward!
