Community members return from educational journey to Ireland

Local community members enjoyed a trip to Ireland hosted by Mary McIntire and Exploria, an educational travel company, from June 5th to the 13th. The cost of the trip included flight, ground transportation in Ireland, hotels, two meals a day, all attractions and a tour guide that traveled with the group 24/7. A school credit option was also available for Stanley-Boyd students. The group visited many iconic Dublin destinations including, Phoenix Park, Trinity College to see the Long Room and the Book of Kell, and Powerscourt Gardens. They also toured EPIC (the Irish Emigration Museum), had a walking tour of Galway, then traveled to Kylemore Abbey and Killarney, via the Cliffs of Moher and Limerick. They visited the Ring of Kerry and the Blarney Castle, home of the Blarney Stone where several members of the group kissed the Blarney Stone. Back in Dublin, they enjoyed an Irish Folklore evening that included traditional Irish dishes and a show of music and traditional Irish dancing and celebrated the 17th birthday of a Stanley-Boyd student where she was brought onstage to learn how to play spoons and an Irish drum and have the audience sing to her. McIntire shared that she hosted the trip because, “I love to travel and enjoy sharing the experiences of travel with my students and others that are interested.”
Enrollment is currently open for a June 2025 trip to Italy and Greece hosted by McIntire. Anyone interested in joining can contact Mary McIntire at mmcintire@s-bschools.org
