this year at Chapman Park, is seeking local candidates between the ages of 15 and 19, to be treated like a queen and also represent their hometown, at the same time.
Interested teens can pick up an application at the Stanley- Boyd High School office or the offices of the Stanley Republican, located at 200 South Broadway, just across the street from Debbie’s on Broadway.
As part of the contest, applicants are expected to sell tickets, write an essay (for the application), do a good job on the speech (topic self-chosen) that they will give in front of three judges on Wednesday before Coronation at Chapman Park, and have community service. Questions on the application will include those on hobbies and such for contestants, who are also expected to be of “good moral character” as representing the community. The current Miss Stanley is Olivia Hoel, chosen as Miss Stanley 2019 and still serving as there was no contest last year, due to COVID.
Once again, contestants may pick up an application through the local high school office or at 200 South Broadway Street, comer of Maple Street and Broadway.
