Meeting Monday, March 20, the Stanley Common Council voted to approve a developer’s agreement with Courtesy Ford in the East Business Park. Selling 5.58 acres to the west of the current building at $1,000 per acre, the developer’s agreement with SEK LLC was drawn up by council member Mike Henke.

As to the plans Courtesy has for the land, owner Scott Eisold said things were still in motion.

“At this time there’s a lot of moving parts yet,” he said, adding that until things were finalized there wasn’t much to say on the project.

With the agreement stipulating that the land is not to be purchased for speculation, the City is to provide title evidence prior to sale showing ownership, with cost of such the responsibility of the buyer. Also included is that Courtesy will pay all costs associated with the real estate transaction, including surveying, with the city to convey a warranty deed free and clear of all liens and encumbrances, excepting municipal and zoning ordinances as well as recorded easements and general taxes levied in year of closing. Courtesy shall have the responsibility of securing all required zoning permits for the land’s intended use, with legal possession and occupancy of the land will be delivered at closing.

In news for city buildings, the Council voted to approve fire station repairs, with motion made by Jerry Allen and seconded by Laurie Foster to approve a Scenic Ridge Concrete quote for $13,130, while Holly Kitchell made a motion seconded by Allen to approve a bid from Louie’s Painting for $18,550 to power wash and paint of the fire station.

The bid from Scenic Ridge includes re-pointing blocks, with four days to grind out joints and two days to tuck point at $65 per hour per man. The bid from Louie’s Painting includes a swivel head pressure wash and wash before painting along with caulking, prep masking, application of conditioner and two coats of Loxon XP as well as the paint stripe around the building. In addition, it includes the prep and painting of the exterior steel door on the east side with clean-up of paint chips and masking material, as well as a lift and lift transport.

Also in council business from March 20 were approval of the bid from Lane Tank to do maintenance work and formal approval of the police agreement with Boyd by Stanley.
