A brand new bridge is now in process on County Highway G in Colburn.
Crossing the Yellow River just north of St. John’s Orthodox Church near Huron, the new $1.924 million span is a federally funded replacement for a truss bridge built mid century. Administered as a county project, the replacement bridge is being constructed by Sheet Piling Services with a projected end date of October, per County Project manager Fred Anderson.
The new bridge will be a three-span haunched slab design, while the old bridge will be demolished.
