This week’s Athlete of the Week is Syleen Seichter, a senior on the Stanley-Boyd Varsity Girls Basketball team. Seichter has become a vital contributor to her team’s success through her dedication and hard work. She began playing basketball in 8th grade but didn’t truly dive into the sport until high school. Reflecting on her journey, Seichter shared, “The best part about basketball is bonding with different people on the team.”
Basketball has taught Seichter the importance of hard work. “If you really want something, you have to work for it and nothing is just handed to you,” she said, a mindset that clearly drives her both on and off the court.
According to Coaches Ryan Wundrow and Matt Miklasz, Seichter is a key member of the varsity girls basketball program. "She is a very hard worker and is our leading rebounder and strong defender," they noted. "She brings a stability to our young team and is a great example to all."
Syleen Seichter’s leadership and actions on the court have made her an indispensable asset to her team. Keep an eye on this hardworking senior as she finishes her high school basketball career strong!
