With a $530,000 grant secured to help fund road improvements, the Town of Delmar took the next step in moving forward with the 345th Street Agricultural Roads Improvement Program (ARIP) project at its June 16 board meeting.
The board approved a bid from Haas, Inc. for the ARIP project, selecting the lowest proposal of $55,629.60. A second bid was submitted by Slobodnik Gravel & Excavating at $59,750.00.
In addition, the board awarded a contract to SENN Blacktop for pulverizing and grading work, approving their low bid of $302,693.00. Monarch Paving submitted the only competing bid for that portion of the work, totaling $347,437.57.
The project is anticipated to get underway later this year, delivering much-needed upgrades to 345th Street. The grant funding has allowed the Town of Delmar to move forward with needed repairs while minimizing the financial burden on local taxpayers.
