With ten applicants total, this year's recipient of The Esther Mathison Scholarship for a Girl with Gumption has been announced, with the scholarship awarded to Monica Derks. Monica is a 2021 graduate of Stanley-Boyd High School with plans to study Business Management at Chippewa Valley Technical College. She is interested in advancing her expertise in the field of agriculture, as she continues to work on her family farm. Monica defined "gumption" as courage and taking initiative. She has been a leader in a wide range of high school and community activities and we are confident she will be successful in agriculture business management.
