After the unprecedented December 15th tornado, donations are being col lected with the support of numerous community groups and organizations, to help with the making of Basic Emergency Kits. These kits will be a collection of items that households may need in the event of an emergency, and they will be made available to anyone in our community.
The kits will be made available to individuals and/or families at the Stanley Community Center to coincide with the April 23rd Community Wide Tornado Clean-Up Day. The kits will be assembled with the help of the Edson Hilltop 4-H Club prior to the clean-up and will be available on a first come first serve basis until supplies run out.
Any of the following items can be dropped off at any of the following locations during normal operating hours by April 15th, 2022: Forward Bank (Stanley location), Marine Credit Union (Stanley location) and Firehouse Friends Childcare Center.
– Plastic air-tight container (28 Quarts or larger) – 1st aid kit – Bottled water – Snacks (sealed/pre-packaged) – Blanket – lap size or smaller (new or gently used) – Flashlight/batteries – Candle/lighter or matches – Hand sanitizer – Kleenex – Hand/foot warmers – Activity books/Cards – Small/medium size stuffed animal (new or gently used) – Toiletries: toothbrush/toothpaste, deodorant, wet wipes – Monetary donations (can be dropped off at Forward Bank)
