On Thursday October 15 at 8:52 a.m., 21-year-old Rachael M. Brewer of Waupaca, Wisconsin was involved in a one-vehicle crash while traveling westbound along State Highway 29. Brewer died as a result of in- juries she sustained in the crash, which occurred at mile marker 97 in the township of Edson. Boyd-Edson-Delmar Fire and Ambulance were dispatched to the crash scene, along with the Stanley Police Department and the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office. A statement put out by the Sheriff’s Office had more details on the Thursday morning crash.

“On the above date and time the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one-vehicle crash with injuries. Upon arrival of first responders the operator/lone occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene. Based upon the initial investigation it appears that the vehicle was traveling westbound when the operator of the vehicle lost control and entered the north ditch. The vehicle continued through the ditch striking a tree causing severe damage to the vehicle and life-ending injuries to the operator. Speed is also believed to be a factor in this crash,” Sheriff Jim Kowalczyk said.
