1924 – 2021
Edith A. Ness, 96 of Stanley,
died on Tuesday, June 22, 2021
at home under the care of St.
Joseph's Hospice. She was born on August 5, 1924 the
daughter of the late Christ and Gladys (McKee) Ness. She grew up on the family farm; north of Stanley in the Town of Taft.
Edith graduated from Stanley High and after
graduation she left to work with the Navy in Washington
DC. She moved to Phoenix and Denver for work before
returning back to Stanley. Edith then worked for the Stanley
School District in the school
library. She continued working
for the Stanley City Library
and the Stanley Correctional Institution.
She is survived by her brothers, Erwin Ness of Arizona and Robert (Joan)
Ness of Medford, her nieces
and nephews, Paula, Debbie, Phillip, Mark, Lisa, Ken, Kurt, Lynne, Suzanne and Andrew, many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Edith is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Glendora.
A funeral service was held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 30th at the Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley. Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery-Stanley.
