Event has helped busy group fund many community projects
COVID-19 has caused another cancellation. Otter Lake Booster Club has announced the cancelling of their 39th Annual Charcoal Chicken Dinner scheduled for the third Sunday of July. This dinner is the organization’s only fundraising event.
The Otter Lake Booster Club is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit whose mission is to maintain and enhance water quality of Otter Lake and the surrounding area to benefit public use.
The Booster Club members voted to hold a summer ticket raffle awarding $4,000 for winning tickets in lieu of its annual charcoal chicken dinner for its 39th annual benefit. Winning tickets will be drawn at 7:00 pm Tuesday after Labor Day, September 8—need not be present to win.
Tickets are available at Otter Lake Bait & Camp Store, at Oemig’s Sport Shop and from Otter Lake Booster Club members. For further information, please call 715-644-1099 or visit the website www.otterlakeboosters.com.

•Constructed the large pavilion at the county park day use area
•Arranged and paid for updating the wiring of the large pavilion
•Built an additional lake access, primarily for winter use, in cooperation with the Stanley Sportsman’s Club
•Maintained public access to the west and east sides of the lake for ice fishermen
•Supplied playground equipment and assisted with installation at the Day Use Park.
•Purchased three Goose Away stakes for Day Use Park
•Used donated and Club money to purchase and install three park benches
•Planted an area for beautification at the park
•Constructed a kiosk and provided free use life vests for kids at south boat landing
•Provided and maintained garbage containers at south boat landing
•Designed and placed fishing line collectors around the lake
•Used donated and Club money for the installation of a fishing dock on the east side of the lake which gives fishing access to families without boats.
•Stocks the lake with game fish periodically
•Conducts an annual free ice fishing contest for youths 15 and under. Club members drill holes and mentor participants as necessary. Winners receive a trophy or medallion. A prize is given for each fish caught, and all entrants receive a modest prize as well.
