Are you ready for basketball?
Ready or not, here it comes. With the Stanley-Boyd boys varsity team holding its first practice Monday, Nov. 13, the season for competition officially starts Tuesday, Nov. 28 with a 7:15 p.m. away game against Elk Mound, Orioles Head Coach Dakota Nichols had the following to say about the upcoming basketball season.
“I feel like team expectations are higher this season,” he said. “We have 7 seniors and return 4 starters from last year, including our top 3 scorers. Haydn Gustafson was Honorable Mention and Henry Hoel was 1st team all conference last season. I’m really excited about the younger kids as well. The boys played a lot of basketball this off-season, so I’m eager to see how much they have improved.”
Now in his second year as head basketball coach, Coach Nichols is assisted this year by Seth Hause, with Terry Walker as JV Coach and Brandon Herrick coaching C team.
With starters and a roster still out awaiting the completion of the first few practices, the Stanley-Boyd boys varsity start their season Tuesday, Nov. 28 at Elk Mound.
