Event will have many activities, raise money for new playground equipment

“We tried to make sure there was something for everyone and a few new things that you don’t see very often in this area,” Stanley Community Association President Kristi Weiland said of the upcoming Fall Festival at Chapman Park.

Debuting Saturday, September 24 at 9 a.m., the new version of an old classic will be at Chapman Park. SCA President Kristi Weiland had more to say on what the First Annual Fall Festival will have in terms of fun and games as well as local impact.

“One of the Stanley Community Association’s goals is to create more fun, affordable, family friendly events in Stanley,” she said. “Other groups already do a great job with summer events. We saw an opportunity to bring a Fall event to Stanley.”

While the SCA will be raising funds to- wards new playground equipment at Chapman Park with the event, Weiland said the SCA also wanted to give other non-profits a chance to raise funds for their own projects.

“There are several local nonprofits partici pating,” she said of the event that kicks off September 24 at 9 a.m., down at Chapman Park.

With over 20 vendors currently signed up, it should be fun, to say nothing of the activities and games planned. Check back next week for a full fall festival itinerary!
