Chippewa County deputies assist an injured bald eagle on Highway X east of Boyd on Thursday, May 28 around 6:30 p.m. The road was closed briefly to allow the deputies to assist the eagle, which ultimately succumbed to its injuries. Bald eagles are federally protected under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act as well as the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
