SAUK CITY; WIS. – Jordan Donnerbauer of the Stanley-Boyd High School, has been honored with the Teacher Mentor Award from the Wisconsin Association of Agricultural Educators (WAAE). Jordan was presented this honor at the WAAE Professional Devel – opment Conference held June 26-30, 2022 in La Crosse, WI at the Radisson Convention Center. The Wisconsin Association of Agricultural Educators, believes in, and encourages each other. Its dedication to mentoring is one of the most unique aspects of being an agricultur – al teacher and that is what makes the organization feel like family.

In a profession that is rapidly changing with people leaving the teaching profession now, more than ever, mentors are essential. They keep the new teachers grounded and hopeful. There are no better mentors than agricultural educators. Donnerbauer has been involved in mentoring others for the past 11 years. The primary mission of a mentor is to instill a belief that they can and will be successful agriculture educators. Mr. Donnerbauer feels that being 100% honest and earning his mentees' trust are the most important tools that he has found throughout his experience as an agricul – ture education mentor. Our award winner is a strong advocate for professional development, and represented his section as a WAAE board representative for four years and has served as state CDE committee chair. Congratulations Jordan!
