Florence Agnes Wald, 100 of Stanley, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Clark County Health Care Center-Owen. She was born on May 18, 1921 to the late Ed and Hazel (Hatfield) Samplawski. Florence grew up in the Town of Delmar and attended Maple Hill grade school and Stanley High School.

On November 20, 1937 she married Rhinehart Wald. The couple farmed in the Town of Taft until 1956 when they moved to Stanley. Florence worked at Blue Moon Foods for 2 years, Victory Memorial Hospital for 11 years and then at the Stanley Clinic for Doctor’s Overgard and Mathwig until retirement in 1983.

Florence loved to spend time with her families. She enjoyed playing cards with her grandchildren. Florence was a Packers, Brewers and Bucks fan. At age 90 she went to a Brewers game and at 91 to a Packers game with her family. She was always busy with her needle work, puzzles and baking.

Florence is survived by her children, Arland (Lorraine) Wald and Marie (Ronald) Wundrow both of Stanley, 9, grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren with one on the way, her sister, Phyllis Stanek of Columbus and two sisters in law, Cleone Samplawski of Stanley and Birdie Samplawski of Beaver Dam. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rhinehart (2007), her parents, brothers, Harold, Clarence, Norman, George, Everett, Bernard and Wayne and sisters, Geraldine Mahal, Katherine Wald and Alva Torisk.

A funeral service was held at 11AM on Monday, October 18, 2021 at the Plombon Funeral Home with Randy Vandeloo officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery-Stanley with her great grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be 4-6 PM on Sunday at the Plombon Funeral Home and one hour prior on Monday.
