It isn’t easy, nor does it happen to everyone, but that’s what makes it noteworthy. Four Stanley-Boyd Oriole basketball players have made the All-Conference basketball team listings: Carsen Hause; Brady Potaczek; Lily Hoel; and Teagan Becker. Brittany Horn of Thorp and Blake Irwin of Cadott also made the All-Conference team listings, bringing the total to six.

Only nine other boys and nine other girls, Conference-wide, did the same. As to Stanley-Boyd’s All-Conference winners, Hoel, Hause, and Potaczek are all juniors, while Becker is a sophomore. Asked to comment on the achievement, basketball coaches Alison Becker and Tom Hause had the following to say: “Players are nominated by their coaches and then voting between all of the conference coaches determines the teams for All-Conference selections,” Coach Hause said of how the process for choosing All-Conference team members is done. “Although the All-conference awards are individual based they are really a reflection of how the team did this year,” he went on. “It

is a very nice honor for our team and for Carsen and Brady to be recognized by the coaches in our conference.” Carsen Hause made 1st Team All-Conference, while Brady Potaczek made Honorable Mention.

As to the Girls side of things, Coach Becker’s comments largely agreed with those of Coach Hause “Lily and Teagen are deserving of their All Conference selections,” Coach Becker shared. “They both are very dedicated and committed to the sport and helping their team be the best they can be.”

With basketball now behind, sports are due to resume shortly, with the first day of middle school track practice on April 5 and baseball and softball to follow, pending some scheduling delays. Congrats to the All-Conference basketball listees!
