The budget for Gilman, Wisconsin in 2021 has been set, and the revenues are set as $543,020, balanced with expenditures. What comes in, must go out. What goes out, helps with local maintenance and upkeep, per taxes.

At any rate though, the village named for Lawrence Gilman (L.G.) Moon per the volume “Place Names of Wisconsin” at the Western Taylor County Public Library—the said Village of Gilman has set its 2021 budget, and the numbers for income and expenses match. These are those numbers.

Starting with revenues, the net mill rate was set at $27.20 per village resolution, decreasing $1.96 from an initial $29.16 after the “state school credit” is factored in. Said mill rate is set for the general area and may include payments to multiple other governments adjacent to or overlapping with the Gilman municipal area.

As to the totals for revenue, the local levy is set for $187,892, a rise of $1,510 from the year previous. Starting out the expense side of the ledger balance, “general government” is due to eat 20.92 percent of the overall village budget with $113,640 in total cost, while public safety is due to take just under this with $103,970 in expenditures, while public works is set to come out above this at $130,089. Culture, recreation and education is set to take the next big chunk with $132,917 in budgeted expenditures, while from there the costs diminish.
