An explosion Monday night at 732 Gilman Street in Stanley has sent several people to the hospital and prompted response from several government agencies, local, state, and federal.
Taking place at 8:28 a.m., the Monday explosion saw a response from Stanley Police, Stanley Fire, Boyd-Edson-Delmar fire, Chippewa County, the State Fire Marshal, the FBI, and the Department of Criminal Investigations.
A call to the Stanley Police Department Tuesday morning was forwarded to Chippewa County, with officers still on scene.
Stanley Fire Chief Ron Patten was able to share more by telephone.
“There was an explosion,” Patten said. “Three people were taken to the hospital. Two were flown out with injuries.”
With the incident currently under investigation, Patten said there was no immediate threat to the public.
“Nobody in the immediate area is in danger at this point,” he said.
