On Aug. 17 th our residents and stau were treated to a cookout with brats some pasta salads punch and desserts and Cedric Solie and the group he plays with came to the Homeplace and played polkas and waltzes some of our residents danced almost every song they played, I think John H danced the two step to every waltz and polka he so enjoyed himself, listening to the residents reminisce about the dances they went to when they were teenagers they danced till the cows came home. Lucille P. said she loved to dance in her young- er days, she danced with our stau (Dorothy) it made her day and mine to seeing all the smiling faces. After playing, Cedric visited with a few of our residents and being a long time resident to the area he went to school and Sunday school together so they have known one another for many years. Because of the Covid restrictions we kind of lost touch with one another so it was great for us to get back to some normalcy by being able to gather as a group eat good food and listen to a band, even they were excited to be playing together again it had been a while since they played for a group of people , Cedric was the one who reached out to us about coming to the Homeplace again to play for our residents and we so appreciate that he did it really made a lot of people happy, so thank you ! We celebrated a birthday on Aug.17th so we had the band sing happy birthday to Joann and ate birthday cake it was a great day for her, happy birthday Joann!
