On Monday our general store opened, Sandi, Jules, Monica, Marge and Al did some shopping. In the afternoon, many of us made our own bars of soap by melting down soap base and stirring in our own fragrance and color. We also looped a string in it for easier handling. Some of us added dried flowers inside for decoration. Yvonne, Sharon, Ed, Cliff, Les, Anna Lorraine, Esther, and Rita made soap on Monday.

Tuesday was National Popcorn Day so to celebrate we taste tested some locally made gourmet popcorn. Everyone sampled each kind of popcorn and had to guess what the flavor was. The flavors they had to choose from were: caramel, red velvet, crème brulee, green apple, banana, and chocolate covered strawberries. Sandi, Esther, Lorraine, June, Al, Marge, Monica, Loren, Dennis, Barb, Bunny, Della, John, Pat, and Jules taste tested the popcorn. Monica, Dennis, Barb, Bunny, Della, and Jules also made their soap on Tuesday afternoon.

Popcorn taste testing continued into Wednesday and Les, Cliff, Ed, Lilly, Kathy, Sharon, Yvonne, Carol B and Connie all participated and did a fabulous job at guessing the flavors. Sandie played a game of cribbage with staff and Monica, Bernice, and Pat Q played several rounds of shut the box dice game.

Thursday morning the general store was opened once again and Esther, Sandi, June, Fred, and Pat W looked around and shopped in the store. Manicures were given to Lorraine, Sandi, Bernie, Barb, Bunny, Monica and Susan.

Friday morning, we had our beautician come in, it sure feels good to get our hair done! Becky, Pat Q, Barb, Bernie, Carol S, Anna, Susan, Cliff, Ed, Yvonne, Loren, Cindy, Les and Bernice were very happy to receive haircuts before the weekend.
