Monday we took advantage of the beautiful weather and had a red, white and blue cookout. It was an American style cookout consisting of burgers, coleslaw, chips, lemonade and ice cream along with some good music. Barb, Bernie, Bernice, Mary, Lorraine, Joann, Al, Marge, Esther, Rita, Becky, Yvonne, Kathy L, Rosie, Carol B, Kristine, Anna, Les, Cliff, Lilly, Jerry, and Alice all went outside for the cookout. It was also Barb’s birthday, we celebrated with cake and a card!
On Tuesday, Della won playing 500 Rummy. Della was crowned card queen after defeating Becky, Esther and Lorraine. Mike, Les and Rosie took a little afternoon trip to Chapman park. Les, sat in the shade and listened to music while Mike fished. Rosie observed and pointed out all the wildlife that she could see and hear in the park. Although Mike could not land a fish we still say a bad day of fishing is still better than a good day of anything else.
On Wednesday, Mike celebrated his birthday with a cake and a card. We all sang “happy birthday” to him. Later, his family dropped off cupcakes for him. In the evening, several residents went outside and played ball toss.
Thursday started with the general store opening. Sandi, Lorraine, Esther, Joann, Becky, Carol B and Pat showed up for some shopping. Cliff, Les and Lilly spent some time outside by the pool and had ice pops.
