Monday morning, Helen was so surprised and happy to video chat with some of her family via Zoom. Esther and Sandi experimented with baking soda paint. They added vinegar to get fizzy bubbles and interesting designs. Mike, Les and Cliff put their working hands together and created different objects out of our new PVC tree. Igga, our handy dandy maintenance man did all the work to make it happen! Cliff, Les and Mike enjoyed showing staff what different kinds of fittings there are and how bathroom plumbing works. They also had fun making a goal post and a ladder with it. Alice “zoomed” her daughter right before supper for several minutes.

On Tuesday morning, Lorraine video chatted for the first time. She loved seeing her family. After that, Lorraine passed the card crown off to Becky as it was Becky who won at 500 rummy. Esther and Vi got their hair washed and set and felt beautiful afterwards. It was also Kathy H’s birthday and everyone sang happy birthday to her and enjoyed the delicious cupcakes decorated by the cooks. Bill received a phone call from family and talked with them for a bit before supper.

Wednesday was Becky’s birthday and the cooks made her scrumptious peanut butter pie upon her request. In preparation to paint, Rosie helped staff sand a raised flower bed in the back courtyard. Many residents and tenants completed a few word searches after lunch.

On Thursday, Helen, Esther, Becky, Sandi, and Lorraine went shopping in the general store. Those who got manicures were Cliff, Anna, John and Sandi. Les had a delightful time video chatting with his daughter and grandkids. At bingo we had many participants. Those that won blackout tickets were: Vi, June, Bernie, and Barb.

Friday, Lorraine and Esther attended drumsticks class. It was Rosie’s birthday on Friday. She received a card, cake and video chatted with family. Most residents participated in balloon volleyball in the afternoon.
