We kicked off the week with an outdoor shrimp boil for lunch. Tenants and residents savored the southern traditional dish of boiled shrimp, corn on the cob and potatoes. It was also Rita’s birthday. June played “happy birthday” on the piano for her. Everyone sang along and enjoyed birthday cake after supper. Bill, Kathy L and Carol S played tabletop balloon bop while Yvonne worked on a puzzle.

Tuesday started off with Sandi winning at 500 Rummy. She defeated Della, Monica, Esther, Bernice, and Lorraine. Anna was whizzing through word searches while John, Cliff and Les worked on PVC pipe creations. Alice video chatted with her family. Rosie reclined in the sunshine while Monica peddled her bike around the parking lot for a few laps.

Wednesday everyone’s groceries were ordered and delivered. Della celebrated a big birthday! Staff made her a card, brought her some of her favorite chocolates and sang “happy birthday.” Her room was filled with sweet smelling flowers from her family. Barb, Bernie, and Monica gathered around the table for a snack and listened to nostalgic stories that took them back to their younger days. They discussed how their schools were much different than now, how the party line phones worked, work boots they had to wear back in the day and the faithful dogs they have had over the years protecting their property.

Thursday began with Esther, Lorraine, and Sandi making their way to the general store. After they had bought their items, they stuck around and chatted with each other. Bob, Monica, Les and Rosie also entered the general store to shop around. Lorraine, Kathy H, Kristine, and Rosie received manicures. In the afternoon, Les, Rosie, Gloria, Esther, Barb, Lorraine and June tested their minds while playing Wheel of Fortune.

Kathy H and Bill got a chance to see their loved ones via zoom chat. Residents played board games like Po:ke:no and balloon bop. Lorraine did some stretching exercises. Connie, Yvonne, and Rosie sat down with coffee together and talked.
