Thanks landowners – reminds riders to stay on trail this winter season
The Huron Sno-Gliders Snowmobile Club donated a to- tal of $8000 to four local fire departments, including Stanley, Boyd/Edson/ Delmar, Cornell, and Gilman Fire Departments. President, Brad Hompe said "the community provides excel – lent support to our club, so it was only fitting that we support the communities in return when we are able to." In addition to these donations to the fire departments, the club regularly donates to the Chippewa Valley Snowmobile Organization to support the purchase of groomers and trail grooming opera –
tions and has donated to local fire departments and other com –
munity needs in the past. Funds are raised through an annual fundraiser which in – cludes sales of cash raffle tickets and an annual raffle event. Members will again be selling these tickets soon. The tickets are $20 each and cash prices include $2000 grand prize, $750 2nd prize, $500 3rd prize, $250 4th prize, $100 5th prize, and (15) $20 prizes. The drawing will be held at the annual raffle and brat feed event held on Saturday February 4th at Huron Tavern from 3pm to 5pm. In addition to the cash raffle draw – ing the event will include meat and other raffle drawings as well as a 50/50 raffle. Hompe also stated that the club would like to remind all snowmobilers that the trails are built and maintained by club volunteers. It is our goal and wish that all snowmobilers join a local club to assist in keeping the snowmobiling tra – dition strong. Being a club member can be fun due to the social events planned by the club and rewarding to see the trails being maintained and enjoyed. Members also receive a discount on their annual trail pass. We are always looking for new club members and we encourage anyone interested to contact us about joining.
On behalf of the club, Hompe also would like to thank all landowners that allow access to their property for snowmobile trails and remind all snowmobilers that our trails exist only because of the generosity of the landowners. Respecting this generosity is always a must! Please stay on the designated trail!
