Improvements Coming soon to Fandry Park and Chapman Park

Chapman and Fandry Park are set to receive some much-needed updates, bringing both safety improvements and new amenities for the Stanley community to enjoy. Streets and Grounds Foreman Joe Schmitt informed the City Council that the pile of bricks that has long been sitting in Fandry Park will soon be removed—a welcome change for park-goers.
In addition to removing the bricks, the City will be installing a brand-new metal swing set from Sauder’s to enhance the park’s play area. Speaking about the existing equipment, Alderperson Ben Wald remarked, “That one’s pretty old and janky and rough around the edges,” highlighting the need for the much-anticipated upgrade. The four-position swing set will be purchased for $1,450, with full reimbursement provided by the Stanley Truck and Tractor Pull and Stanley Rodeo (STPR.)
“Sounds like a win-win,” commented Huff.
Chapman Park and Fandry Park visitors can also look forward to 20 new picnic tables, enhancing the space for gatherings and outdoor activities. The tables, costing $261.91 each, will also be reimbursed by the STPR.
“These are going to be in addition to what we already have,” explained Wald.
These upgrades aim to make Chapman Park and Fandry Park safer, more enjoyable spaces for families and the broader Stanley community.
