The Stanley and Eau Claire Police Departments are investigating an alleged threat against a Stanley-Boyd School District student.
As a result, there was an increased police presence at the Stanley facility Tuesday.
Police Chief Lance Weiland released the following statement: “Early this morning we were made aware of a threat made to a student that attends Stanley-Boyd Schools. In cooperation with the Eau Claire Police Department, the source of the information is being investigated and analyzed by their staff. Our school district administration has been made aware of the information and a soft hold will remain in effect within the school until further information is obtained. “You may notice an increased law enforcement presence at and within the school and that is simply as a proactive precaution. At this time we are not considering the threat as actively credible and will update everyone (as will the school district) if anything changes. School functions will be taking place as normal today.”
A police officer was posted at the main school door Tuesday morning.
